A non-profit organization dedicated to the wild dolphins and people of the Atlantic Talamanca waters of Costa Rica. Conducts research of tucuxi and bottlenose dolphins and their interactions.

The lodge is strategically located only 5 minutes away from the extraordinary Tortuguero National Park, and right across the main "canal" facing the town of Tortuguero. Surrounded by a network of very scenic canals, this is considered one of the most exotic regions of the world, characterized by its rich in flora and fauna.

The Eco Lodge Selva Bananito is today an extraordinary example for ecotourism: nature and adventure tourism services nestled in a pristine region of Costa Rica’s Caribbean area, the Talamanca Mountains. Our Private Reserve, Selva Bananito, is an important buffer zone or transition area to the “International Park La Amistad”. Selva Bananito Ecolodge has achieved world wide recognition as an example for Costa Rica ecotourism.

In September of 2008, Selva Bananito Eco Lodge is included in the list of the eight best eco lodges in Costa Rica, this time in the Times Online edition of Sept. 12th. Not only, does this confirm the continuity in our effort to excel as an eco tourism operation, but additionally, this article makes reference to the carbon offsetting that takes place at Selva Bananito and in which we have taken a lead among all other tourism service providers. We do have the smallest Carbon Foot Print in the country for all similar operations in the tourism sector!
